A great set of antique Art Deco bookends. The bookends are in the figural form of Pirates, with a man and woman. They have a nice sculptural quality and can be displayed even without books. They were made in 1932 by the K & O Company and are called "The Pirate Couple". The bookends are made of white metal and retain the original bronze toned finish with cold painted accents. They are large with the lady measuring 10 1/4" high and being 4 1/2" x 3 1/8" at the base, they weigh a bit under 6 pounds for the pair. Both are signed on the back bottom edge. The Pirate Couple bookends are in very good overall condition. The only thing to note is a few small losses on the cold paint and some light surface scratches which are mainly on the back. The bookends would look great in a period Art Deco decor, they are a neat antique item.
