This is a Dresden AMBROSIUS LAMM early cup and saucer. This set dates from 1887-1891. It is in superb condition. There are two handpainted figural scenes on the cup and two on the saucer. Each is different. The other panels are painted with florals. There is a lovely hand painted rose on the interior bottom of the cup.

Every ridge and scroll is filled with gold. On the inside of the cup rim is scalloped gold. The cup base is footed. The background outside of the artistic panels is yellow.

Lamm was noted for exceptional artistry and his wares were admired by the most wealthy at that time.

The cup is 3 1/2"D by 2"H, The saucer is 5 1/2"D. No chips, cracks or crazing. The painting is in perfect condition. On the footed base is an tiny indent, but this is glazed and a manufacturing flaw.

An exceptional early cabinet set of fine quality.
