Fine Antique Porcelain: French, German, English, European & Hand Painted
A larger version of this vase can be seen in the reference book - Dresden Porcelain Studios by Jim & Susan Harran, page 75. My first inclination was that this was missing a top but as seen in the photo, it is a flower vase. That small rim on top is glazed on both sides indicating a top was never in use.
This vase is appx. 5 1/4"Tall. There are three cartouches with hand painted flowers. Each bouquet is different. A lot of embossing, raised relief designs, all painted with gold. Small flowers are painted here and there in areas between the gold on this pretty white porcelain.
This was decorated at the Franziska Hirsch decorating studio from 1893-1930. Hirsch used blanks from Meissen, Rosenthal & MZ Austria. This would account for the simlar blanks decorated by Dresden Studios but marked with different decorators.
No chips, cracks or crazing. Painting and gold in excellent condition.
