This retro modern, very cool Murano glass bowl was most likely made in the Fratelli Toso shop in the fifties or sixties. Unmarked. It's in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and measures 7" inches in diameter.

The bowl is covered on the underside with granulari, overshot as they say, mostly in this country, or glass "sand" as I have also heard it referred to, and with a clear base applied to the bottom.

Great optical effects are created by the diffracted light along the rim. The color and style remind me of a Carlo Scarpa design but similar shell shaped bowls were known to have been made by Fratelli Toso.
