Pair of Framed English Hand Colored Engravings of Oriental Headdresses

This pair of framed hand colored book engravings features traditional Oriental headdresses. One is titled "Mongolian Varieties" and one is titled "Malay Varieties". Beautifully detailed, they depicted the curious coolie hats, Manchu mustaches and exotic turbans of the Far East for the Victorian reader. Simply framed in narrow vintage frames of gold with red underlay, they measure 7.75" x 9.5". The actual plates measure 2.5" x 4" with cream matting and gold and grey pen lines. In excellent condition, these little gems are an interesting addition to a bookshelf, a grouping of plates or other prints, or to stand alone in a small room such as a powder room. Please note: the mats are pristine, any splotches in the pictures are reflection!
