.Celebrate Spring with this one of kind vintage charm bracelet! Named for the legendary English garden designer Gertrude Jeckyll, this bracelet was created with a collection of vintage charms in a gardening theme. Eleven sterling charms of dangle from a double link sterling bracelet. A lovely old rabbit in a graceful pose takes center stage between a single stem of a blooming rose and a darling 1940's wheelbarrow with a wheel that spins. A cute little turtle with MOVING head, tail and legs creeps along balancing a tiny woven basket perfect for picking flowers. Next is a FABULOUS watering can that looks SO real you want to use it. The sweet nesting bird charm is next, and it is move-able. The momma bird lifts off of the nest to reveal three tiny eggs! The other bird is solid and has a sweet, sleepy expression. It must have gotten up early to get that worm. Next to that is another pretty rose charm and this one opens for a peak at a small ladybug. Lastly, we have the small round locket which will hold two photos of loved ones, and a sprightly standing squirrel nibbling his nut. All of these charms are vintage with the exception of two: the opening rose and the opening bird. These are reproductions of English antique charms, made in England by their fantastic sterling craftsmen. Because of their fabulous detail and character I included them in spite of their age. Their patina is comparable to the vintage ones for a cohesive look.

I choose to use only vintage charms or reproductions of antique English charms because the incredible detail they offer is seldom found in today's mass produced charms. The elusive aged patina is another reason I prefer the older charms. I may lighten but never fully remove the patina, as I prefer vintage charms to look, well, vintage. They will polish to a high gleam if you like. The charms I used are 3D, with no flat backs and are either marked sterling or have been tested.

An array of vintage glass pearl and crystal beads from the 1950's have been hand wrapped with sterling pins and added for extra volume and texture. The glass pearls in gunmetal gray and creamy off white give a lustrous glow. Clear multifaceted Austrian crystals add just a touch of sparkle. The bracelet is sterling double link with a substantial box closure which is marked "sterling" and safety catch. It measures 7" not including the clasp. All findings are sterling except the jump rings which are extra heavy duty sterling plated, for extra strength. Truly a one of a kind!
