This pair of framed hand colored book engravings features traditional Oriental headdresses. One is titled "Mongolian Varieties" and one is titled "Malay Varieties". Beautifully detailed, they depicted the curious coolie hats, Manchu mustaches and exotic turbans of the Far East for the Victorian reader. Simply framed in narrow vintage frames of gold with red underlay, they measure 7.75" x 9.5". The actual plates measure 2.5" x 4" with cream matting and gold and grey pen lines.
