Antique Sterling and Glass French Perfume Lapel Pin Brooch with Trombone Clasp

A very interesting tiny perfume pin consisting of a glass bottle marked on the bottom Made in France, a surround of soldered Sterling Silver (unmarked), A prong set stone of deep blue that has chatoyance, a filigree capped screw on top with a glass perfume dabber, and a bar pin with a trombone clasp. No markings other than the bottom of the glass perfume. The trombone clasp is a push to close, pull to open...it is not spring operated and is securely functional! For those not familiar with the mineralogical term "chatoyance" it's meaning is the property of some minerals to exhibit a wavy, luminous band with a silky luster, reminiscent of the eye of a cat, in the center of a cabochon-cut (polished, with a rounded, unfaceted convex surface) stone. The effect, caused by parallel fibers or by oriented imperfections or inclusions within the stone, is typical of Cat's-Eye, Tigereye, Satin Spar, and Bronzite. Thank you for visiting! Mona
