This beautiful piece of Chinese Porcelain is in fabulous condition for its age. There is a small chip off the base at the rear and a hairline crack on the base fill-in area...otherwise pretty close to perfect. This is a large Buddha standing 10" high and 9 1/2" wide. The plate has the British Coat of Arms meaning the company had been granted a Royal Warrant. The company were SAFE MANUFACTURERS in Victorian England and this plate probably dates to around 1880 - 1890.

These are really old...A similar pair listed in CARTERS ANTIQUE GUIDE has them as Circa 1800 and priced at Australian $1400-1600 for the pair. This set stand at 8 1/2' in height and have the bases weighted with broken glass. A large part of the silver plate has worn away leaving the copper showing.One has marks as follows.... IIII, and the other has...GM. Overall condition is otherwise very good.

A great old Children's Writing Slate Board from the Victorian era or possibly slightly later Edwardian period. It is branded with " CROWN SLATE" with a depiction of a Crown on the top wooden surround. The front is divided into small squares whilst the back has lines. A child has carved their initials at front bottom.... G.D. The Writing Slates measures 12" x 9" and the wood has a lovely aged patina. A wonderful genuine old writing slate ideal as a decorative piece in a child's bedroom.
