This is a rather fascinating little item from the days when a "fashionable lady" carried her own little ashtray with her. I would think this is probably from around the very early 1900's. The condition is excellent with no corrosion...does have a couple of little dents but they just add to the charm of the piece. Measures 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 ".

This is a more delicate holder and I think one that would have belonged to a lady. The aperture is just 1 /4" in diameter so would have held a cigarette rather than cigar. Finely carved depicting a hand with Heather and Thistle...definitely a Scottish owner one would have to assume. There is a chip off the Amber stem and a tiny bite off the bowl edge. Measures 3 3/4" in length with the Makers Name of the case being C.P.F. The case is leather over wood and there are some leather strips missing ...

What a beautiful little piece of Kiwiana this is. This is made so you are looking at the rear of the KIWI Bird and the bird has twisted its head backwards and down so the beak is back behind its rear legs. This is a very well made piece with lovely detail and is marked on the base “KIWI N.Z. GOLDEN GLAMOUR by Emile Sigur.” I have not yet managed to “discover” the who, when, and where of Emile Sigur but this piece has an Art Deco feel and about it. This is chrome over brass I think.

This is a little cutie 1950’s native girl nursing an ashtray basket. It is in mint condition and measures 4 inches tall and 3½ across. No markings but of Japanese manufacture. Becoming highly collectable.

This celluloid on tin Cigarette Packet Holder is a souvenir of Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand. The holder is designed to take a packet of 10 cigarettes and has a nice Maori Motif on it with a Tiki and a picture of Queenstown and Lake Wakitipu on the back. Condition is Mint.

Gonzalez Byass produce the very well known brands of Tio Pepe sherry and Soberano Brandy in Jerez, Spain, and export these all over the World. This is beautifully made Spanish Porcelain by Moahsa and is trademarked accordingly. Measures 7 x 4 3/4 inches.

This is 2 1/2' in length with an aperture opening of 1 /4", so either for a cheroot or cigarette. Stamped as 9 carat and in lovely unmarked condition. Probably late Victorian, or Edwardian period.

A stunning vintage terracotta pottery match holder and striker approx 8cm or 2 1/4" tall It has 'matches' written on the floral pattern on the tray No markings but it has been with a torquay collection for many years and the collector attributed it to torquay No chips, cracks or repairs to be found, there is age crazing on the tray.

A multi-purpose cigarette purse with lighter and powder puff & mirror.The slide in mirror and the actual powder puff and powder have gone but apart from a few small paint loss flecks and ding marks this is in very good condition. A real collectors piece being rare to find now. Marked ....Ronson Art Metal Works Inc.Newark, NJ USA. Genuine Chromium Plate.. Has engraved initials of GB on front panel. Measures 4 1 ...

A very fine old china ashtray for Glenfiddich Pure Malt Scotch Whisky with an unglazed base and no markings but obviously of British make. There is considerable surface glazing and it looks to date perhaps to the 1920-30’s era or earlier. Certainly this is the only one like this I have ever come across. There is a small crack or manufacturing fault on one of the rests but it is in remarkably good condition for its age. This is a large piece measuring 7 1/2 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 inches ...

A solid ashtray in lovely "crackle glass" with a handpainted "Huntsman" on it. The ashtray is 6 1/4 inches in tiny "flea bite" out of the inner rim and this has "starred" a little under the rim but is not really noticeable.We have however reduced the price to this fault into account.

A very nice tin and unusual in that it the graphics depict a woman smoking a pipe. Minor rust spots only and measures 3 1/2' in diameter. Manufactured by The National Tobacco Company of Napier, New Zealand...later became ROTHMANS.

A wonderful example of the British Class System at work here...says on the tin....PEERAGE CIGARETTES..."As Supplied To British Nobility". The tin has a glued paper label which considereing this probaly dates to the early 1900's is in pretty good condition. Made by MURRAY & SONS of London & Belfast. Quite a rare one I think.

An unusual tin featuring a woman in the graphics, probably 1920's era. The tin has minor surface rust only and is 3 1/2' in diameter. Graphics on lid are good and some of the paper label left on sides. Made by the National Tobacco Company of Napier, New Zealand...later became ROTHMANS.

This was a real find! An old Ad ashtray for a Champagne producer, G, CAZENAVE, Avize, Epernay. There is a little French humor on it as well which I think is something along the lines of…. When men drink Champagne the women look better? This is a really collectable old piece with the makers Crest and stamp on the back “Villenauxe en Champagne plus a serial number imprint.

A large Tobacco case Label measuring 12 1/2" square for EMU TWIST BRAND. The makers name on the label is DAVID DUNLOP, Petersburg, VA. The depiction of the factory on the label leads me to assume that this label is from the early 1900's. Also interesting to see an American company marketing such a strongly Australian image as an EMU. I've now checked on this company and it appears that in the late 1800's DAVID DUNLOP had developed a strong market in Australia for Plug Tobacco with brands such as ...

A very old tin from SALM0N & GLUKSTEINS for the DANDY FIFTH Brand of cigarettes. Fading of colour printing with minor rust spots on exterior but in pretty good order for age, The tin is 6 3/4" x 3" and 1 3/4" in height. The company was established in London in the 1870's but the tin is probably late 1800's or early 1900's.

This is 8 1/2 inches in length and 6 tall. Open the lid and the base rises up to offer the cigarettes plus the music starts playing. Made in Japan back in 1920-30's era and only good for really short cigarettes ! A marvellous piece in excellent condition...note the mirror so the ladies could discretely check out their make-up when they lifted the cover.

This looks very old....early 1900's or possibly even Victorian period. Condition is pretty good....no rust. Measures 7" x 4 1/2' and is 5 /8" in depth. The back of the tin has a number of small inscribed drawings on it which could be original or may have been added at a later stage...not certain.
