Commencement For my college graduation my grandmother gave me a Peridot and Amethyst necklace, which has remained my favorite to this day. I have always loved the color combination of green and purple and all the more in gemstones that seem to create their own light. This collection is inspired not only by that necklace, but by that day, Commencement, the beginning of a new stage while standing on the last. An honoring of history, mine and that of the women who have come before me, while looking to the future. The style is meant to evoke a sense of history while maintaining a modern feel. It is two strands of Amethyst and green aventurine spaced with vermeil beads. The pendant is hand fashioned of fine silver and coated in 22 Karat gold with Amethyst and Aventurine Cabochons. Approx 15 inches with a gold plated hook and eye clasp.
