I painted this in December and January of 2004/2005 before I had a studio to work in. I set up the still life in my dining room in my very small house. It took up half of the room! I had just come back from a 3 week painting intensive with artist Tony Ryder and wanted to work immidiatly without losing momentum.
You have to work fast when you are painting from fresh fruit because it changes shape and color rather quickly. I wasn't able to work full time on it because I was still working a second job at that point, so in order to preserve the fruit as long as I could, I kept the heat in the house to 55 degrees most of the time. Brrrr...
This Painting is unframed.
