I have always had a love/hate relationship with turquoise. I absolutely love the color, the look and the feel of it. But it needs a special, elaborate design that takes the material to a much higher level. Beads just didn't get my artistic juices flowing, so I was ecstatic when I found these teardrop shaped pieces of turquoise; this color turquoise is absolutely outstanding!

My love for flowers, combined with these beautiful almost flawless pieces of turquoise inspired me to make this quite substantial design.

The 2 1/2" centerpiece consists of two round layers turquoise petals.

In between these layers sits a vintage brass stamping; the front layer of turquoise is topped with different shapes of stampings, of which some are embellished with Swarovski Clear Crystal Rose Montees, and some are embellished with wired-on pearlescent seed beads. In the center of these stampings, on a base of turquoise and clear crystal rosettes sits a small brass rose.

The 4 one and a half inches smaller rosettes - two on each side of the large centerpiece - have the same design as the smaller round in the centerpiece. The brass stampings in the center have the Swarovski Clear Crystal Rose Montees and the pearlesque seed beads, with the brass rose on a base of turquoise and clear rosettes. The necklace part is made of very special prickly brass beads that we rescued from an old 'Trifari' necklace, and turquoise colored glass 'crow beads'. It has a wearing length of app. 16 1/2" to 20" .

The earrings are the same size as the 4 smaller rounds and have the same round shape incl. the small rose, but the center stampings have no seedbeads or Swarovski Rose Montees; the pearlesque seedbeads are wired on little leaves that adorn the turquoise rounds to emphasize the flower shape.

They are clips, and very comfortable ones I might add, not the ones that squeeze your earlobes to the point you want to scream!
