This is a pair of India portraits on ivory. The subjects are possibly the Suraj Ud Daula and his wife of Delhi, India. The portraits are housed in their original frames, mats and are under the original convex glass. The detail of the paintings are unbelievable.

Each is 2 7/8” high, “2 3/8” wide. The condition of the mats are good, however, the female has discoloration to her face.

These portraits can be referenced in Judith Miller, “Antiques Price Guide”, 2004, page 190.
