Return Policy
Ruby Lane and each of its independent shops want you to be satisfied with your purchase. To ensure your satisfaction and for the protection of both the buyer and shop owner, we have a Return Policy that each Ruby Lane shop owner honors. View Return Policy now.

Shipping/Handling/Insurance Policy:
NOTE: USPS postal rates increased again for 2009.

Buyer pays for shipping, insurance and signature confirmation at delivery. Insurance is required.

USA SHIPPING: For safety reasons, we prefer to ship via Insured USPS Priority Mail, though you may request something else. USPS Express Mail is also, usually available: please inquire before purchase. UPS for oversize items.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: We have found the least expensive costs for shipping abroad are those of the US Postal Service. We use insured International Express Mail (EMS) for most items. USPS Priority International may be available for less expensive items. Registered Air Mail when needed for insurance to certain countries. Insurance is required. Feel free to e-mail us for cost estimate. When providing us with your shipping address, please include your TELEPHONE number (for Customs and Shipping Agent use only).

ALL CUSTOMS DUTIES, TAXES, and BANK AND CURRENCY EXCHANGE FEES are the full responsibility of the buyer. Please do not ask us to falsify Customs forms. Be assured, however, that we will work hard to keep your shipping costs reasonable within these limits. We have many very satisfied international buyers and we welcome you!

Restocking Fee:
We currently charge no restocking fee; but, we do not refund shipping costs or our non-recoverable fees such as Paypal or bank wire fees. In exchange for leniency with returns, we urge you to carefully review all photos and the descriptive text. And, if you have any questions about an item, please email before purchasing!

We honor the Ruby Lane policy on returns. (A link to the return policy appears on every item page.)

Other Information:
LAYAWAY: In some cases we can offer layaway with 1/3 down and three months to pay in full. Contact us to inquire. Note: Return policies do not apply for lay-a-way items; but, in some circumstances, a store credit may be issued for the amount of purchase less any fees incurred.

NEW JERSEY BUYERS incur an additional 7% for NJ Sales Tax, unless we are provided with a currently valid NJ resale number and written intent to re-sell your purchase.

MONEY ORDERS and CHECKS are due within 7 days of purchase. (Shipping delayed until check clears.)

BANK TRANSFERS incur a $15 bank fee.

CREDIT CARDS cards are accepted through PayPal ONLY (i.e., not, directly). Please send PayPal payments within 3 days of receiving confirmation of your purchase.

Until the new PayPal policies have had some time to prove themselves to us, when paying by PayPal, please note that, we prefer to ship to a PayPal CONFIRMED or non-US VERIFIED shipping address. The Confirmation may be obtained by registering your credit card with PayPal. See the PayPal web site for the procedures for becoming international Verified.
