REDUCED Antique French Miniature Wooden Shoe Treen Snuff Box or Pin Cushion Very Detailed Carving

A delightful miniature French wooden shoe, made of walnut and very finely hand-carved in the tradition of the crafts of Normandy. It may have originally been a snuff box or held a pin cushion. Since it did not come with a lid, and there is no sign of where one was, I suspect it was a pin cushion, which would have had a filled velvet insert... very easy to replace. The shoe was created in the early to mid- 19th century. The work is very detailed, as shown in our large images. Beautiful patina. These cost a fortune in antique shops, particularly in Paris!

Perfect condition with no damage. A wonderful miniature sculpture at a great price!
