A beautiful French silver coffee pot with carved wood handle, created by Risler & Carre, a Tetard successor! The pot bears two Minerve I guarantee marks (on the pot and lid) for .950 silver, which is purer than sterling (.925); plus the hallmark of Risler & Carre, who commenced trading in 1899 at 16, rue du Faubourg Saint Honore, Paris. Risler & Carre is also stamped on the underside. The pot weighs in at 510 grams, a nice weight with plenty of stability. Please see the large images for measurements.

The pot's timeless design goes back at least to the start of the 19th century and would be equally at home with today's post-modernism. It can also be used as a hot water pot with a silver tea pot. You may have seen the French oil and vinegar sets, mustard pots and salts with a design similar to the border of the bottom of this pot.

Very good condition with nothing more than a professional re-soldering of the top of the handle, which is not noticeable on the outside, but may be seen on the inside. A few very minor dimples that you won't see without looking for them, mentioned merely for absolute accuracy... the kind that give antique silver its lovely soft patina. A beautiful piece of French silver for almost any decor! Wouldn't it also be just the thing for hot chocolate while curling up with a good book on a cold evening ?! See also our Odiot master salt in a similar style, sold separately.
