A wild and wooly THICK sheepskin fur muff and Cossack hat set c.1940-50’s; the fur nap on these pieces is about 2” thick and is white with golden tan tips. The hat’s label says “Style by SUDI ~ New York” but has no size indicated; it measures 23½” in circumference and is 8” high, with an interior lining of leopard print silk. Don’t be put off by what appears to be soil on the label – it’s the yellowed glue used to attach the label.

The matching muff has no label and measures 11” across X 8” in diameter. The interior is lined with amethyst satin and has a wrist loop.

The sheepskin and accompanying fur making up these pieces is in excellent condition with no fur losses or shedding – as thick as the day they were made! The satin inside the muff has a couple of tiny wear spots, and both pieces have an ‘old lady’ odor reminiscent of lavender but stronger. Even though they’re clean I would still recommend having them dry cleaned to take care of the storage odor.
