1880’s C Tielsch Pierced Gilded Bowl, Hand Painted Fruit

A simply stunning pierced bowl (most likely used as a bread tray), 11¼” long X 7 3/8” wide X 2 3/8” high and bearing the mark of ‘C. TIELSCH & CO.’, Silesia, Germany, c.1875-1934. The shape of the bowl and style of painting indicate that it’s from the earlier part of this period, c.1880’s. Intertwined vines and grape leaves make up the pierced sides and they’re lightly brushed with gilt to highlight the crevices. The center has completely hand painted fruits (NO transfer!) – a pear, peach, plum and currants. A deep raised foot rim on the bottom is similar to those used by RS Prussia during this same period.
In excellent condition, NO damage of any kind, all pierced areas are completely intact. Due to the nature of the brushed gilt it’s hard to tell exactly how much was originally applied, but it does seem to have some wear on either end at the rim. In the close-up of the fruit you can see a small smear of adhesive that I missed when taking the picture but have since removed.
