This spectacular piece comes from the estate of a jewelry collector where most of the jewelry dated c. 1940 to 1950's. The sculptural brooch may not be signed, but it was made with quality construction. The domed center for the blossom is full of green rhinestones in shades of bright emerald green and slightly darker olive green. All the rhinestones are round, faceted, foil backed, securely pave set and full of brilliance. Because the gold toned metal setting is rounded, light hits these rhinestones from every angle and creates a great amount of sparkling allure. The gold metal is also textured, which adds visual details and depth. The sculpted and layered petals are each enameled with the most beautiful color that resembles pearly ivory mixed with pastel pale green. Each of the daisy-like curved leaves has etched detailing, and all the enamel is beautifully intact. There are no chips or scratches noted anywhere on this magnificent brooch. The shiny gold metal back of the piece is textured and beautifully intact. The pin element functions smoothly and easily. There is also a large shiny gold loop behind the top petals of the flower to accommodate a chain. This would instantly convert the brooch into a focal pendant on any necklace.
