Vintage Vendome Double Strand Crystal and Faux Pearl Necklace

Daring and dramatic, this stunning necklace makes quite a statement! The large 10mm glass crystals have an aurora borealis finish that flashes color in every direction, while the 14mm faux pearls glow in ivory and white. With all this glamor, it is impossible not to stare at this beautiful piece. The AB crystals rest between tiny round gold beads, while gold filigree caps surround every faux pearl. The result is so eye catching! Each large bead has plenty of room for the light to hit it just right. The necklace has incredible texture and depth from the combination of flat facets on the crystals and the gentle lines and curves of the faux pearls. When inspected with a 10x loupe, all beads are found to be in excellent like new condition without scratches or chips. The AB finishes of the crystals are beautifully intact. The decorative ends of the necklace have wonderful detailing. One side has a 3 inch chain link and faux pearl extender, while the other side has an elaborately detailed metal flower on the J hook. The J hook is also marked Vendome without the copyright symbol, which dates this piece between 1944 and 1955. The shorter strand measures 21 inches in length between the decorative necklace ends, and the longer strand measures 23 1/2 inches. This exquisite necklace is in excellent like new condition as if the piece was rarely worn. I was lucky enough to meet the original owner who claimed to have worn this necklace only a few times. A lovely and demure woman who took immaculate care of her jewelry, she considered this necklace a bit too flashy for her taste. This amazing necklace is definitely bold and mesmerizing.
