Seth Thomas Shelf Clock, circa 1890-1900's. This was considered a high quality in its day. Oak case has the original level with embossed plate around the level at the bottom and a thermometer on the top (thermometer is not working). Cathedral coil gong with mellow sound; brass bell for the alarm; nickel pendulum bob. Dial is aged and worn (especially between the IX and the XII) bu the dial pan is embossed with a design which is rather unusual for this type of clock. Movement is 8-day spring driven with hour and half hour strike.
