The oak case is not original to the movement but both are antique pieces and together when we acquired it. The case at one time housed an old time recorder. The movement, circa 1890, Wm L. Gilbert, “Jewelers Regulator” timepiece. The movement, dial, hands and weights are all original. The porcelain dial is in excellent condition. The weights and pendulum are in good condition with age related spots and minor imperfections. The top glass appears to be original, if not it is “old” glass. The bottom glass was completely missing. We designed a stain glass inset that we felt would enhance the beauty of the clock. The surrounding glass is “antiqued” wavy glass with amber squares inserted, the center glass is clear. This is a highly collectible piece. In its original case we have seen them sell for 6,000 – 12,000. This is a large beautiful wall clock. (More pictures to come)
