This is a stunning French Opaline glass. It is beautifully hand painted with raised enamel flowers and butterfly's.Opaline glass was hand made in France. It was at its height of it's popularity in the 1850's and the 1860's during the reign of Napoleon lll. It was made in France from 1800 to the 1890's. This Opaline Egg Casket and tray are held in heavy Brass Ormolu. The Ormolu and the Opaline is in Xlnt condition. There is no damage. This piece stands 6 1/4" tall. It is about 3 1/4" across. This being the round trinket tray. From the back legs to the front leg it is about 3 3/4". Please ask any questions.
