Road trip! Well, ok, so we can't join this group that set out from Illinois to Wyoming in 1951. But, we can sure participate in the memories! This album is chock full of black and white photos, colored post cards and other paper ephemera. The foursome started out from Pecatonica, Illinois on July 19, 1951 at 6:35 a.m. (the logistics are all carefully recorded--except for the return date). The 3274 miles traveled included trips to the Tetons, Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone. There are over 100 photos of sites and cabins; 35 color post cards and two souvenir post card packs of the Tetons and Wyoming. These items are photo-mounted. The album, which appears to be handmade, measures 9x12. The paper cover is torn, some of the black pages may be torn, but all photos and post cards are intact. What fun and no gas expended in your trip!
