This painting is filled with movement! Once you pick out the figures, you can see feet, body, arms, hands all flying as if in a stylized dance.

The rough plywood gives the painting texture, adding to its energy. Done mostly in black on white, there are also touches of sparkly gold.

Over her lifetime Carley Craig has produced many works in a variety of styles - her bio includes costume design, sculpture, cartooning, watercolors and other media. What I have seen of her work consistently shows a mastering of simple forms and strong lines.

Her work is well worth collecting and preserving!

DETAILS

Unsure of the medium - could be gouache, or an oil with ink wash on 1/4" plywood; measures 22" x 17"; wood frame painted gold.

CONDITION

VERY GOOD - Some paint loss in the rough grooves of the plywood; due to the selection of the rough side of the plywood to paint on, you will see the grain and other natural imperfections - this was intentional to give the painting more texture.

Package will be shipped via UPS, insurance included. Package weighs 5 lb.
