This wonderful pottery jar has certainly had a wonderful life in someone's kitchen. In years past, woman put their drippings in the jar, only to use them during cooking as in fried potatoes, etc. This "Lard" jar is circa 30's as is seen in the pretty flowers which are still in great shape - I doubt that this was heavily used - there is some slight discoloration a the very bottom but it is slight and does not take away at all of a little Americana at its best. The word lard is very black and the flowers are just great. I only found one of these so you had better grab it.
