Sanborns Mexican Silver bracelet

A wonderful collectible! This Mexican Silver bracelet is from the Sanborn’s Department Store in Mexico City. This piece has pre-Columbian influences, similar to the designs of Fred Davis who was employed at Sanborn’s.

Sanborn’s was the biggest silver shop in Mexico during the 1950’s.

The original price tag is still on the bracelet. It reads “Sanborn’s SMEA $36.00” (see picture). There is also a worn marking on the clasp that reads “Mexico”. Measured at 8 x 7/8” with a weight of 2.2 oz.
