About Us
I make every effort to accurately describe each item and its origins to the best of my ability. My parents were avid collectors of figural bottles and I "caught the bug" at a young age. We assembled a library of books and magazines (remember "The Spinning Wheel" and "Hobbies") and corresponded with dealers and other collectors (this was pre-internet) to gather as much history and information as we could. My father was a traveling salesman in the days before superhighways and I don't think he passed any of those little roadside antique shops without checking them out for "bottles."
Soon I was searching myself, but by then there were more "Antique Malls" than one owner shops. I'm now at that point in my life where I need to "downsize" as they say. Because they mean so much to me, I want my bottles to go to "good" homes, where others will enjoy them for their humor and beauty. I haven't yet stopped antiquing, so other items might pop up in Marblehead Vintage & Antiques if I think they're unique or rare or quirky enough to be special!
