This is Bacon's Essays, one of the Knickerbocker Classics. It has a copyright 1907 by Hurst and Company. This is on the front cover at the bottom of the pasted on picture, not on the inside of the book on a title page, in fact there is no title page, just a table of contents. The book measures 6 1/8" by 4 3/8" and has 319 pages. The book cover is completely separated from the bound pages of the book. The cover is worn and frayed, both on the corners, edges and the top and bottom of the spine. The outside edges show some soiling but the inside are nice and clean and tightly bound. The picture of the pretty lady that is glued to the front cover is worn and soiled and missing parts of its edges. The price is right on this to buy just to enjoy the reading!!! We are missing the picture of the front of the book. I apologize for this and will rectify this as soon as possible. Happy Collecting!!!
