This is the magazine, the Illustrated London News, November, 1938, also called the Christmas Number 1938. It is not in the greatest condition as the front and back covers are separate and completely loose from the rest of the magazine. There are tears at the tops of both the back and front covers as well as some on the spine side. This magazine measures 14 1/4" tall and 10 1/4" wide and is made with high quality, heavy glossy paper. It is full of lovely full color illustrations and ads including ads for Craven 'A' Cigarettes, Dewar's White Label, Yardley, Bryl Creem, de Maurier, McVitie & Price, De Reszke 'minors',(cigarettes), Mackintosh's chocolates, and Martini Vermouth, both with a great Santa Claus, Sunbeam-Talbot Autos and Greys cigarettes. There are some very interesting articles, including one titled, The Story & Origin of Christmas Cards, and The Friend of Man in the Seventeenth Century,(about dogs in art). There are sixshort stories, including The Vicar Shoots the Amber' by J.A. D. Dempsey. Many of the ads and illustrations are framable. The inside pages are nice and clean and not torn. Happy Collecting!!!!!
