Carved wooden dog head pin with glass eye and leather collar

Painted facial features, and a red leather collar secured to the back of his neck are other details that make this dog head pin unique. I think it is a type of great dane, but you be the judge. This piece is from the 1940s and shows some wear, the worst of which is the missing black paint on his nose. There are no major cracks or missing pieces and the pin clasp works perfectly.
