The pattern is of a white knit doily with eight places for glasses and with Welchs stitched in the middle. A colorful Grape and Grape Leaf pattern undulates around the edge with a gilt trim. Kendall & Whitney ran an Agricultural Supplies Store at the corner of Federal & Temple streets in Portland from 1858 until the mid-1950s. The back of the box pictures that store with horse-drawn wagons on the street, and probably dates to the 1920s. About VG- to VG condition with a slt crease or bend in the box down through the right side of the picture on the back, corner dings, dirt, and wear.
