One of the first rules of food safety is to keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold. This vintage hammered aluminum will keep your food hot as well as make an interesting conversational piece.

This 4 piece set is complete: Base, pan, lid and glass insert. It is 12 inches wide and 8 inches tall. It takes a 9 inch casserole dish, which is included.

The base sits on 4 ball feet, which are echoed on the top rim. The fluted "pie crust" edge will frame your dish beautifully. The sterno cup spins, but it is not loose. I think this is intentional. There is a base pan with some raised bumps on the interior. This will keep your glass insert from coming in direct contact with the heat source. The metal lid has a floral design of roses and leaves. It had a ball finial and 2 openings on the side. The handles on the Fire King Philbe casserole have a ridge which fits perfectly in the openings of the hammered aluminum lid.

I have searched every inch of the piece and not found a makers mark. It is in good used condition. Since aluminum is a soft metal, there are expected surface scratches. There are no deep scratches or dings, just a lovely soft patina from use.
