A fashionable lady would never appear without her parasol in the early part of the 20th century. She had to protect her fair skin with was valued as a sign of her leisure life.

This handle is completely made of rolled gold over non-precious metal, probably brass. It is heavily chased with flowers and flourished. The gold is not marked, which is usual with these handles.

The total overall measurement is 14" with the knob on the top at 2.75 inches. The only mark that I found is on the lower part where the handle would have attached to the parasol. It has a cursive K&H in a cartouche. It has the usual 'knicks , knocks & scratches' from its advanced age and everyday use. They may be able to be buffed out, I'm not sure.

This beauty would make a wonderful cane or walking stick handle for your special guy....or buy it for yourself, to use or to display!
