The yellow plaid Vernon Kilns Organdie pattern was manufactured in California from 1937 to 1958. These charming salt and pepper shakers are in the butterscotch yellow plaid pattern with a chocolate brown stripe. Each California pottery shaker measures about 2 1/2 inches in diameter, and 3 inches tall. Each bears a black stamp on the bottom of "Hand Painted Under Glazes/Vernon Kilns/Made in U.S.A./Organdie." The backstamp appears to have been applied right across the hole where the cork goes. Each shaker appears to have its original cork. Each is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
