The focal section of this necklace is Dravite Tourmaline which is the brown, magnesium-rich variety of tourmaline. It is less common than the other varieties and is sometimes referred to as "Autumn" Tourmaline. There are 3 carved leaves bracketed by wonderful Dravite tourmaline briolette, rondels and ovals. All blend well with the 3mm variegated Hessonite garnet strand. Early dravites were sometimes mistaken for garnets because their form mimics the dodecahedral shape exhibited by the garnet family. The necklace is 17 inches long and closes with a 14Kt gold filled hook and eye clasp. The length can be modified to fit upon purchase.
