Shell Cameo in Beautiful 10K Mount - Victorian

A shell cameo depicting a well carved left facing Warrior in helmet with shield. Executed in good detail and medium relief. The carver has shown excellent control in working the natural coloration of the shell.

Mounted in a particularly pretty 10K yellow gold mount. Measuring 1.75" x 1.25" the piece is complete with its' original broaching mechanism and early safety clasp.

CONDITION: Superb antique condition. No cracks, chips or growth lines to the cameo. Very well carved in good detail. The carver has made subtle and clever use of the tints in the shell. Excellent 10K mount. Victorian.
