Referred to as a half hoop, these rings were popular from the mid Victorian period through the early 20th century and are in fact similar to saddle style rings - but always set with 5 gemstones across. (For more on these rings see Michael Poynder's 'Guide to Jewellery'.)
The diamonds are set in the multi claw fashion in silver over gold with a red gold shank.
Currently a size 7.5, we can custom size this ring to suit. (Never a charge for sizing fine rings.)
CONDITION: Very fine antique condition with expected age appropriate wear. The Maker's Mark "VIJ" is unknown to us. Antique diamonds are not rated as modern ones. 1.4 Carat total weight by gauge & formula. Weight by scale: 5 grams. Origin unknown.
