This lovely set sports Mother of Pearl handles with applied silver decoration. This was likely meant, back in the day as a dessert service but today it is equally fit for a first course service or luncheon. The knives are quite broad and could double in a pinch for fish as well.

Tailored but elegant, it is housed in a sturdy polished wood box with an applied central gilt crest like disk. Interior is fitted and upholstered in velvet with a puckered polychrome base and cord trim.

CONDITION: Very fine antique condition showing only minute historic wear. No damage to note. Six 2 piece place settings comprising 6 forks and 6 knives of American luncheon size. The fitted box is trimmed in brass with a keyhole but no key. It shows no Maker's Mark but indicates an English Maker. (Markings have been photographed). 19th Century.
