Rare Royal Crown Derby Olde Avesbury 17" Cabinet Plate, ca 1940

An exquisite plate in the Derby Olde Avesbury pattern with scalloped edges. Later pieces in this pattern often involved transfer printing - but this being an early one is beautifully hand painted.

The beautiful array of colors in this piece are predominantly in shades of pinks and rose accented with wonderful blue & yellow plumage on the birds, mauves in the butterfly and of course there are touches of deep greenery.

CONDITION: Mint, with no damage or losses to note. Appropriate Pink Royal Crown Derby Marks and Impressions ( I've tried to capture the impression marks in the white photograph) are present. Circa 1940, England.
