SOLD Beautiful Ivory Letter Opener - Germany

At first glance this appears to be Ivory and Tortoise - but it is not. A solid piece of Ivory with polychrome at one end has been beautifully painted in the Japanese style, and knife edge carved only at the cutting end. This is the first of this kind I've come across, and it's exquisite!

Measuring 7.5" long it will be beautiful on any desk.

CONDITION: Very fine antique condition. No cracks or repairs. No losses. Marked Germany, lower reverse. Likely from the 30's - 40's.
