The Decorator's ID is hand painted in Gold along with the pattern number: "D" and "3200". It could be that Cauldon Potteries had earlier blanks from Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. At any rate, this jug has an early diamond registry with a backstamped Staffordshire Pottery name in business from 1905 to 1920. It is lightweight, finely potted with gold embellishments. The pattern is of ferns, wild flowers, and a bird in flight, perhaps a Swallow.
In near mint condition, this little pitcher has more recently served as charming daffodil and tulip and Christmas holly holder. Lovely! It fits in well with the older Staffordshire & British blue and whites.
SIZE: 7ins. tall, globular shape, simple loop handle. Opening span is 3-1/2". Ring shape foot base with only a slight well indent.
CONDITION: NO damage, NO restorations or repairs. Some minor gilt rubbing wear.
Item ID: ptc.1
