Indented rim platter, in dark to medium blue, with an octagonal center well frame and octagonal rim vignettes.
The center scene features a castle and pagoda, a water buffalo, and 3 Oriental figures apparently having a picnic. One, a child, holds out a plate to be served. The border has eight, eight-sided cartouches alternating between flowers-grouping and a dog with 2 of the picnic figures. The ground has a Chinoiserie, geometrical repeat over-all pattern. Unmarked, except for a deeply impressed '14'. Flat bottom with no foot ring. The backside rim has three, tri-cornered stilt marks. Thick blue rippled glaze, unevenly applied, with 4 teensy pops and a bubble, pattern side. Ground is clean, creamy-white with no crazing, no discoloring.
Condition: Excellent. Rubbing to bottom rim. NO damage, NO repairs. 3, single stilt marks on pattern-side rim.
SIZE: 14-1/2" by 11".
