REDUCED English Staffordshire Pen Holder ~ Swans & Cygnet ~ c.1850

Porcelain. Mother and Papa Swans with little one on "grass" with fanciful tree bocage. I detect no damage, no repair. Tree trunk color is darker than the base or the swans and believed to be so intended. The back of the tree trunk and down to the base shows glaze crazing with discoloration. Nice gilding to wings, heads and around the base. Interesting Leaf design above the baby swan in mellow yellowish ochre, iron red, and a pleasing green. 5ins. high by 4-1/2" long and base width of 2-1/2". Adorable! Porcelainous material.
