Circa 1827 to 1843.
IN THIS SET: Teapot w/ Lid, Sugar w/ lid, Creamer, Slop Bowl, 4 cups and 4 saucers.
CONDITION: Perfect Condition: 4 CUPS, 4 SAUCERS, CREAMER.
With Issues: The TEA POT LID has a missing triangular chip and has been re-stuck in 3 pieces. The POT has nibbles to the ledge on which the lid sits. Very small firing faults on the spout & handle. 4 cute little embossed feet, only one with a hidden surface flake. The SUGAR BOWL has helmet rim hairlines, both extend down mid-way to the bowl's waist. The LID was broken in half and is re-stuck with no piece missing but with surface flaking at one narrow end inside, and 6 aged flea-bites. Glaze crazing toward two feet and just above them. The WASTE BOWL has a new surface chip on the inside, rim down-ward and a finger-nail nick, pattern side, about 1" from the surface flake.
MARKS: a few pieces have a circular blue mark under glaze. The saucers all have a sun-burst like mark, impressed, also resembling a 10 to 12-petaled flower, very small.
The quality is high-end, with great transfer placement, dolphin handles, embossed little feet, and beautiful pedestal foot, lovely handle cups. Good glaze, clean creamy white ground and a medium to dark blue transfers. This set must have graced the nursery of a privileged British child (or the child of a rich American Tourist?).
SOME SIZES: TEAPOT, from base to tip of handle's thumb-rest: 4ins. SLOP BOWL, almost 2-1/2" high with a rim span of 4-1/8". All cups have a pedestal foot base, recessed bottom. Saucers sit on a ring base. Creamer, Sugar and Teapot have 4 cute daisy-like little feet. Adorable!
