Pottery:Antique:Juvenile
Only 3-1/2" high and 6" from handle to spout, this mini tea pot has no potter's mark and was made in the 19th century, probably 1860-90. It came from a famous U.K. miniature teapot collector via a Fine Art Auction about 9 years ago. The relief moulding features leaves and stars with painted enameling over glaze in wine and green. There is blue glaze obvious in crevices even though this is heavier earthenware and not pearlware. Condition is good with these issues: Nibbles and flake to the spout ...

This charming globular, light weight pitcher once served as a water jug, along with a matching basin, for a child. Although bearing a blue stamped mark "CAULDON ENGLAND", the jug also has a pattern registry diamond in relief for an earlier date than 1891. Hard to decipher, it looks as if the date of pattern registry was 1876. The Decorator's ID is hand painted in Gold along with the pattern number: "D" and "3200". It could be that Cauldon Potteries had earlier blanks from Brown-Westhead, Moore & ...
