MAGNIFICENT 40's vibe vintage 80's YVES SAINT LAURENT YSL gray velvet trench coat M 6/8

Here is an truly fabulous vintage early 1980's trench coat by Yves Saint Laurent. It is so wonderfully constructed and timeless. It is truly magnificent. How do I begin to describe it?

The fabric is a soft draping velvet in a pewter gray color. It has wide padded shoulders that are gently gathered. The back of the shoulders has a straight panel that has gathers radiating down from it creating many pleats that enhance the back view when the coat is cinched at the waist. The same effect is repeated in the bust. It has full billowy sleeves that narrow at the cuffs and button closed.

It has a high mandarin collar. The edges are piped in braided heavy faille in contrasting black. It has 6 large buttons closure with sturdy faille fabric loops. The waist is cinched in with a matching velvet fabric adjustable belt and a black lucite buckle. There are deep slanted pockets on the sides. The side hems are vented for ease of movement and just looks so elegant when you walk! The clean lining is thick black satin. It is in perfect condition showing very little to no wear just a few light crease marks that can be gently steamed out.

Tagged a size 36 translates to a US size 6/8..This coat is meant to be worn blousy and loose to create a lovely voluminous look....Please go by outside garment measurements provided.

BELT: 29 1/2" at the smallest hole and 34" at the largest. Remember: this is the belt measurement and it will be worn on the outside so your waist needs to be smaller than 29" or no larger than 33".
