Lovely Victorian brooch tests at 9KT gold. The lovely amethysts stones are glass which is not at all unusual for this period of time. The center stone is prong set with an open back to allow the light to shine through and add a fabulous sparkle. Surrounding the outer pattern are prong set smaller glass amethyst stones but they have closed backs which doesn't dull their fantastic sparkle at all. The brooch pin measures 1 1/2 inches and has wonderful Fleur De Lis style ornate etchings. The brooch is Circa late 1800's and has a c wire gold clasp. It is in excellent condition and makes a great accessory to any wardrobe or collection.
