Sterling Silver Chainmail Necklace - Graduated Byzantine Weave

I made one of these graduated Byzantine chainmaille (chain maille) necklaces before, but it's so gorgeously unusual that I wanted to make another one. There's well over 3 troy ounces of sterling in this necklace so you definitely know you have something substantial, but the fluid way it drapes around the neck so makes it a pleasure to wear. I made this show piece by weaving it one ring at a time from the highest quality sterling jump rings. It takes a lot of time to make chainmaille, but the end results are well worth it. It closes with a substantial S clasp at just over 17".
